Somatic and Trauma-Informed Psychotherapy for Couples and Individuals
What is Somatic Therapy?
Somatic Therapy addresses the connection between the mind and the body. Our bodies are sources of deep wisdom, and often times our unresolved stress, challenges, and trauma can become stuck there and manifest as symptoms like anxiety, depression, numbness, difficulty in relationships, or even unexplained body tension and pain. Somatic therapy allows us to get the body on board with cognitive awareness and promotes emotional healing on a cellular level within the nervous system. This approach creates a more resilient internal capacity that not only helps us cope with challenges in healthier, more sustainable ways, but also increases our capacity to enjoy life more fully.

About Me
My somatic approach to therapy draws on my knowledge of the physical form, training in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Hakomi, Polyvagal Theory, and is deeply rooted in radical self-acceptance, social justice, anti-oppression, liberation psychology, and decolonizing therapy frameworks.
I have a passion for “healing the healers” – those who give of themselves to others yet find themselves lacking the same loving support that they give every day. I hold a tender space for those who yearn to have their lived experiences acknowledged and validated, and those who want to deconstruct and reconstruct limited belief systems that prevent them from living authentically. I welcome the perfectionists and people-pleasers who seek permission to love themselves more deeply. I also welcome people who are interested in exploring and renegotiating harmful generational relational legacies. Together we can work to shift behavioral patterns that may have once been adaptive but are now holding you back from enjoying life and relationships more fully.
The therapeutic relationship is a profoundly sacred one, and I look forward to being a compassionate and encouraging witness to your personal metamorphosis.
